Moscow has built up “filtration camps” for 100,000 Ukrainian POWs

RUSSIA has constructed a “filtration camp” that can house up to 100,000 Ukrainians who have taken up arms against Moscow’s military.

On state television, Russian military expert Viktor Baranets stated that Moscow had sanctioned and established a “filtration camp” to accept prisoners of war from around Ukraine. Baranets expressed “pleasure” with the capacity, implying that the camps might be used to question anyone incarcerated, implying that the facilities may be utilised for other purposes. Moscow is said to have transferred hundreds of people from the bordering districts of Luhansk and Donetsk into Russia, with reports of Ukrainians being stripped of their documents and sent thousands of kilometres away.

Speaking to Russia 1, Baranets said: ” Anyone who held a weapon in their hands.

“Filtration, interrogation, and so on, Lady Justice of Donetsk knows how to treat criminals.

“Especially since a place is already prepared for POWs in the Donetsk region.

“I was pleased with the number, that it can accept 100,000 POWs. That’s normal, the sooner they come, the better.”

Residents of Mariupol reported being “filtrated” by the Russian Army before being allowed to remain in Ukraine rather than being taken to Russia.

Dmitriy, 31, told DW News that the invading forces warned him and his family that they would be “evacuated” across the border, but he and his family were allowed to stay by avoiding the larger filtration camps.

He said: “Everything went smoothly, perhaps because I gave the ‘right’ answers. I had heard shouts and men who had asked why Russia had invaded and had ruined their homes and lives being insulted.
