A prominent Ukrainian store in Zaporizhzhia’s southern area will reopen on Saturday under new – Russian – administration. It’s the latest example of Moscow’s occupying forces attempting to erase Ukrainian identity in areas under their control.

The Melitopol shop used to be part of the ATB network, which is situated in Dnipro. The store is now part of the MERA group, which is based in St. Petersburg, Russia, according to a leaflet shared on a local TV station’s Telegram channel.
The leaflet claims that consumers who spend at least 500 hryvnia (about $16) would be placed into a “mega prize draw”; however no details on what the winner could earn are given.
A big Ukrainian coat of arms has taken from the front of the mayor’s office in the town of Tokmak. The characteristic Ukrainian emblem a yellow trident on a blue backdrop – is pushed up against the building’s entryway. A guy on a ladder appears to be labouring to dislodge the trident from its place in an earlier shot on the same Telegram channel.
