According to Russian state media agency TASS, a top Russian ambassador warned Saturday that any conversations with the US on “strategic stability” are on hold.

“There is no need to talk about any prospects for negotiations on strategic stability; with the United States,” said Vladimir Yermakov; director of the Russian Foreign Ministry’s nonproliferation and arms control department.

Yermakov reportedly says, “Unfortunately, all of Washington’s actions are geared in the diametrically opposite direction”. And “It is essential to have a suitably tuned partner in any debate, but especially so in a strategic dialogue. On the American side, such a debate is currently formally at halt.”
