Angelina Jolie, a Hollywood actress and humanitarian, startled Ukrainians by showing up at a cafe in Lviv on Saturday, as Russia resumed its offensive in the east.
The 46-year-old caught notice when she arrived to the cafe dressed in plain clothes, despite Russian soldiers’ continuous bombardment on the nation.
Jolie, who is known for her humanitarian activities, visited Ukraine in February, which has been ravaged by shelling.
She was photographed looking calm in wide-leg grey pants and a slouchy sweater as she made a low-key visit to grab a coffee in Lviv, but nothing is known about her visit.
While waiting for her drink, fans recognised the singer, who smiled and waved as they videotaped her on their phones and signed an autograph.
In the coffee shop, she looked to be with a single male acquaintance, but she engaged with admirers who were thrilled to have her in their country on such a low-key visit.
Maya Pidhorodetska posted a video of her visit to Facebook, with the caption: ‘Nothing remarkable.’ It’s just Lviv. I just went to get a cup of coffee. ‘It’s all about Angelina Jolie.’
