Germany’s Bundestag lower house of parliament unanimously endorsed a petition supporting the delivery of weaponry, particularly heavy weapons, to Ukraine to assist it defend itself against Russian attacks.
“In addition to Russia’s broad economic isolation and dissociation from international markets, the most crucial and effective way to stop the Russian invasion is to intensify and speed up the delivery of effective weaponry and complicated systems, particularly heavy arms,” the petition stated.
According to Bundestag Vice President Wolfgang Kubicki, the petition was supported by both the ruling coalition’s three parties as well as the opposition conservatives, and it passed with 586 votes in favor, 100 votes against, and seven abstentions.
