In the Yankees’ triumph over the Orioles on Tuesday night, first baseman Anthony Rizzo hit three home runs for the first time in his career (NYY 12, BAL 8). With eight home runs on the season, he now has sole control of the MLB lead in home runs.
Rizzo’s first multi-homer game as a Yankee, and his 20th overall, began in the third inning against Jordan Lyles with this short-porch special:

In any other major-league park, that three-run homer would not have been considered a home run. It does, however, matter.
