According to Tech Crunch, Twitter has acknowledged that the variation in follower count that occurred after the company was sold to Elon Musk was organic.
These modifications, according to Twitter, were not triggered by bots or any other activity by the microblogging network. People were creating and cancelling accounts, which caused the variation.
In a statement, Twitter said, “We’ve been looking into recent swings in follower counts.”
“While we continue to take action against accounts that violate our spam rules, which can have an impact on follower counts, these changes appear to be primarily due to an increase in new account creation and deactivation.” We’ll keep an eye on these variations in follower counts.”
Many high-profile incidents have surfaced, with some celebrities experiencing a reduction in their social media following. In the process, former US President Barack Obama lost almost 300,000 followers. Katy Perry, a well-known singer, reported losing over 200,000 followers as a result of the revelation.

Many Twitter users had stated that if Musk’s offer was accepted, they would leave the social media platform. Musk’s approach to free speech was dreaded by many.
However, following the agreement, the hashtag “#RIPTwitter” began to rise on the microblogging site.
Right-wing politicians, on the other hand, have seen an increase in support. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s following jumped from 539,000 to 660,000, according to Rep. Matt Gaetz.
Despite the fact that the volatility is natural, Twitter has stated that it would continue to monitor the situation.
