Kazakhstan criticises a Russian TV broadcaster for threatening to “look at Ukraine.”

According to a Kazakh official, Kazakhstan may declare a popular Russian television host persona non grata after he claimed the Central Asian country could face the same destiny as Ukraine if it did not take a firm stance in favour of Russia.

On his YouTube show, Tigran Keosayan claimed that Kazakhstan was “ungrateful” and “sly” for failing to express its support for Russia.

Aibek Smadiyarov, a spokesperson for the Kazakh Foreign Ministry, described Keosayan’s remarks as “insulting” and lacking objectivity. “Perhaps his statement reflects the opinions of some segments of the Russian public and political elite, but it contradicts the spirit and core of our countries’ collaboration,” he continued.
