The meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin has yet to be set in stone, both in terms of timing and context.
According to Ukrinform, this is according to Mykhailo Podoliak, the assistant to the head of the President’s Office, who remarked on the Turkish defence chief’s suggestion that such a meeting could take place in the coming days.
“Recognizing the terrible implications of Russia’s war on the Black Sea region, Turkey is attempting to resolve the situation as quickly as possible. However, the date and context of the meeting of the two countries’ presidents have yet to be finalized “Podoliak explained.
He emphasized that battles in eastern Ukraine are intensifying, as well as Russian invaders’ continued attempts to fully demolish Mariupol.
Consultations, on the other hand, are continuing at the level of working subgroups, according to the adviser to the head of the President’s Office, with the goal of preparing the parties’ legal positions.
“As soon as any specifics emerge,” Podoliak vowed, “we will make a special announcement.”
Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar had already announced a probable meeting between the presidents of Ukraine and the aggressor power in the coming days, according to the media.
