According to the Daily Mail, children in America are murdered by gun violence more often than by accidents, diseases, or drug overdoses.
In 2020, more than 4,300 children ages one to 19 died as a result of gunshot injuries, according to researchers at the University of Michigan. This was the first year that gun violence overtook car accidents as the major cause of death.
Researchers also published findings in the New England Journal of Medicine, estimating that 45,222 people will die from firearms in 2020.
They then decided to look into how many of these deaths were affecting children, and discovered that in 2020, six children out of every 100,000 in the United States died as a result of firearm-related deaths.

During the year, the percentage of suicides committed with firearms also increased.
Other studies, according to Jason Goldstick, a research associate professor at Michigan, point to an increase in gun violence in the United States.
Early in the epidemic, a research from the University of California found an upsurge in the purchasing of weapons.
