Israeli forces killed a Palestinian in West Bank

According to the Palestinian health ministry, a Palestinian died Tuesday after being shot in the head by Israeli soldiers operating at a refugee camp in Jericho, a city in the occupied West Bank.

Ahmed Ibrahim Oweidat, 20, “succumbed to critical wounds sustained by live bullets to the head, at dawn today in Aqabat Jaber camp,” according to the government.

According to an Israeli army officer told AFP, the event is being investigated.

Three individuals were injured when “undercover” soldiers attacked the camp overnight, according to the official Palestinian news agency Wafa.

As the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, the Jewish holiday of Passover, and Christian Easter celebrations converged this month in Israel and the occupied West Bank, violence increased.

Since late March, 14 people have been killed in Israeli attacks by Palestinians and Israeli Arabs.

Oweidat is the 25th Palestinian, including assailants, to die in Israeli security forces raids in the occupied West Bank over the same time period.

Violent clashes have also happened in the Al-Aqsa mosque compound in east Jerusalem, raising worries of another armed conflict after a similar disturbance prompted an 11-day war last year.
