Emmanuel Macron will retain the Elysee Palace for another five years after defeating far-right challenger Marine Le Pen in his second consecutive presidential election victory. According to IPSOS, Mr. Macron is estimated to have won the 2022 election with 58.8 percent of the vote, compared to 41.2 percent for the National Rally leader.

While Macron’s supporters celebrated his victory during his victory speech in Paris, his opponents have already flocked to the streets to express their disappointment.
