Meghan Markle made her first royal appearance alongside Prince Harry, Prince William, and Kate Middleton, according to Mirror Online. If royal insiders are to be believed, Kate was not a fan of Meghan hogging the show.
The inauguration of mental health hotline Shout, an outgrowth of William, Harry, and Kate’s mental health organisation Heads Together, was Meghan’s first royal function.
Meghan’s confidence during the event, according to royal author Tina Brown, left a bitter taste in William and Kate’s mouths, who were apparently taken aback by her excellent public speaking skills.
“Harry gazed on with admiration as his brother and Kate stood by with expressionless irritation,” Brown said in her book The Palace Papers: Inside the House of Windsor.
“When it was Kate’s turn to speak, she was markedly less fluent, as well as brief,” Brown added.
Brown also wrote in her book that royal insiders have told her that both Harry and Meghan “have a shared appetite to drama.”
