The Russian Federation’s current sanctions policy is insufficient. New punishments must be developed on a regular basis.
According to an Ukrinform journalist, Head of the President’s Office of Ukraine Andriy Yermak made the relevant statement in an interview with France’s TF1 TV channel.
“The fact that the war in Ukraine is still going on, and our people, our children, are being slain, shows that the existing sanctions approach is ineffective.” It needs to be improved. It must be updated on a regular basis, and new sanctions must be produced on a regular basis,” Yermak explained.
The EU’s backing for a complete energy embargo, as well as sanctions against all Russian banks, is critical to Ukraine.
According to Yermak, it is critical to develop sanctions that recognize Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism.
“In addition, in my opinion, the subject of placing Russia in the FATF blacklist should be explored, following the lead of other countries that have already implemented such steps,” Yermak added.
