ISLAMABAD: The names of more than 100 political personalities have been removed from the exit control list (ECL), Bol News reported on Sunday.
According to details, the names of Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif, former president Asif Zardari, ex-premier Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and other important political personalities have been removed from the ECL.
Faryal Talpur, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Saad Rafique, and Khawaja Asif, are also among those whose names have been withdrawn from the ECL.

Notably, the no-fly list contained names placed on the recommendations of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) due to corruption charges.
Sources privy to the matter said the names placed on the courts’ orders or the recommendations of security institutions have been upheld.
Earlier, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said the parliamentary committee on ECL had recommended modifying rules approved by the cabinet.

He said as per the new approved rules, the names of the people who were included in the list would be automatically withdrawn after 120 days if no evidence was provided against them.
The interior minister confirmed that there is a total of 4,863 people who are on the no-fly list and after the new rules, around 3,000 people will benefit.
