Daylight has become rare for the women and children stuck inside the Azovstal steel plant.
A boy said, “I want to get out of here and see the sun. We’ve been here for two months now and I want to see the sun.”
The plant is sheltering hundreds of soldiers and civilians, during the times of heavy bombardment in Mariupol.
He added that the forces switch lights on and off for safety purposes. He wants to live in peace.
The boy continued, “Let Ukraine win this war because Ukraine is our dear home.”
Russian troops continued to launch air strikes on Mariupol, restricting locals in the area of Azovstal plant.
Yuriy Ryzhenkov, the CEO of the company that owns the plant, says, the situation at the Azovstal steel plant in Mariupol is “close to a catastrophe.”
