Russia-Ukraine conflict: Zelenskyy warns that Moscow aims to ‘invade other nations,’ as another mass grave is discovered

Other countries should “fight alongside” Ukraine, according to Zelenskyy, who claims that remaining neutral is the “riskiest gamble.”

In a video speech late Friday, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned that Russia’s invasion of his country was “just the beginning,” and that the Kremlin wants to “invade other nations.”

In a statement sent to his Telegram channel, Zelenskyy urged other countries to “fight with” Ukraine, saying that states who chose to remain neutral were taking “the riskiest bet, since you will lose everything.”

According to Petro Andriushchenko, an assistant to Mariupol’s mayor, his remarks occurred before the discovery of what seemed to be another mass grave in the village of Vynohradne near Mariupol. Satellite photographs from US defence contractor Maxar appeared to reveal multiple lengthy, parallel tunnels that “are/will likely become” new gravesites, according to the firm’s statement. Each trench is around 131 feet long, according to the business, and they first appeared in late March. The charges elicited no quick response from Russian officials.

According to an intelligence briefing from the United Kingdom’s defence minister early Saturday, Moscow’s attempts to totally take Mariupol have been hampered by Ukrainian opposition. Ukrainian counterattacks, it said, had prevented its soldiers from making any significant gains in the previous 24 hours.
