Girls from Karnataka, India, who had petitioned the courts for a court order allowing them to wear the Hijab in school, were turned away from taking their board exams after requesting to do so in burqas, according to NDTV.
Aliya Assadi and Resham, two students of Vidyodaya PU College in Udupi, attempted for almost 45 minutes to persuade the invigilators and the college’s principal, but were unsuccessful. No exceptions were made to the court judgement that supports a state-wide ban on the Hijab at educational institutions, they were informed by the officials.
The two students, Assadi and Resham, did not cooperate and were spotted quietly walking out of the campus, abandoning their test.
“The regulations are being followed. The girls refused to listen to our invigilator’s pleas. They were plainly not going to sit for their tests. They were just interested in creating a problem “Ndtv reported that college Principal Sandeep Kumar had made the comments.
There are 1,076 test centres around the state where rigorous security measures will be in place to ensure pupils adhere to the dress code.
Minister BC Nagesh emphatically rejected a proposal by Muslim female students to be allowed to take examinations in hijab.
“Writing and passing the test are just as crucial as wearing a hijab. The outcomes of our exams will determine our destiny, “a Muslim female student said.
Aliya Assadi, a 17-year-old high school student, is fighting the state’s Hijab prohibition. That’s why she made a fresh plea to Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai to save their future.
“As of right now, you still have an opportunity to save us from losing our future. Allowing us to take tests while wearing the hijab is up to you. Please give this a thought. That country’s future depends on all of us, “tweets from her.
2nd PU exams are going to start from 22nd of this month. Hon'ble CM @BSBommai you still have a chance to stop our future from getting ruined. You can make a decision to allow us to write exams wearing hijab. Please consider this.We are the future of this country.#HijabisOurRight

All applications were rejected by the Karnataka High Court, which ruled that the hijab “is not a fundamental religious practise in Islam” and that the clothing code should be enforced in all educational institutions..
There is a widespread boycott by Muslim females of all ages of all state exams. After the court’s decision, several females decided not to take the pre-university test.
The Supreme Court, too, has refused to hold an emergency hearing.
