ISLAMABAD: Accompanied by Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal, Minister for Communication Maulana Asad Mahmood and Balochistan National Party chairman Sardar Akhtar Mengal, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reached Quetta on a day-long visit.
He will lay the foundation stone for the dualization of the Khuclak-Khuzdar Highway during his visit.
The Prime Minister will also preside over meetings about the province’s law and order situation as well as development projects.

Meanwhile, the Premier has expressed his displeasure with the paucity of necessary products in Balochistan, as well as the sale of such items at higher costs than the regulated pricing.

He ordered the Ministers of National Food Security and Commerce to go to Balochistan right away and deal with the problem.
A special aid package for citizens in the Holy Month of Ramadan was announced two days ago on the Prime Minister’s directives.
A day earlier, an officer was martyred and a soldier seriously injured when terrorists opened fire on a security check post in Balochistan.
According to the Pakistan Army media wing (ISPR), terrorists attacked a security check post in Kahan on the outskirts of Awaran in Balochistan.

ISPR said that security forces retaliated by thwarting the attack and the fleeing attackers were chased in the nearby mountains where the exchange of fire took place.
The security forces successfully repelled the attack.
ISPR also said that during the clash, Major Shahid Bashir embraced martyrdom while another soldier was injured during the exchange of fire.
