Thames Water: Fury at 5,000 litres per day despite though man ‘hardly at home’

Thames Water has informed a SOUTH LONDON resident that he consumes 5,000 gallons of water per day while being “barely at home.”

Varun, a 35-year-old father of one, moved to Croydon in 2020 from Harrow, where he spent £27 a month for water. Varun has now been charged £4,000 by Thames Water for his 2021 water usage.

Varun’s new monthly water bill amounted to £333 on average in 2021, despite his assertions that he was rarely at home.

He asserted that Thames Water estimated his daily water consumption at 5,000 litres.

Varun then said: “I was shocked when checking the invoice in my online Thames Water account.

“I thought it might be some system error because before moving to Croydon – I used to live in Harrow and I used to pay around £27 per month as my water bill.

“When I moved to my current house in October 2020, my water usage was around 300 litres per day according to last year’s bills.

“But suddenly after February 2021, it started showing my usage as around 5,000 litres per day”.

Varun, from Croydon, said he was charged £4,000 a year for water despite not using 5,000L
