PM Shehbaz appoints PML-Q’s Chaudhry Salik Hussain as CPEC authority chief

ISLAMABAD: PML-Q MNA Chaudhry Salik Hussain was appointed chairman of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday.

PML-Q lawmaker and son of Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain Chaudhry Salik Hussain has replaced Khalid Mansoor as CPEC authority chief.

Regarding the inclusion of Salik Chaudhry in the federal cabinet, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain said that his son decided to take charge as federal minister owing to his advice.

He said that both the PML-Q ministers would not compromise on national security because for us Pakistan is first and foremost.

“Overcoming challenges is a priority, while tolerance and elegance are our way,” he said.

Earlier today, Three Federal Ministers and one Minister of State took oath at a ceremony at President House in Islamabad.

President Dr Arif Alvi administered the oath to the ministers. Federal Ministers include Mian Javed Latif, Chaudhry Salik Hussain and Agha Hassan Baloch while Muhammad Hashim Notezai took oath as minister of state.

Among others, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was also present on the occasion.
