DONALD TRUMP did not storm out of his interview with Piers Morgan and to suggest as much as is an “inaccurate, dishonest representation of what happened”, Nigel Farage has claimed.
The host of GB News slammed The Sun newspaper for publishing a headline claiming that Donald Trump “storms out” of a long-awaited interview with Piers Morgan. He stated that the headline could only be described in one “simple” way: “it is fake news.” Mr. Farage then played a recording of the conclusion of Mr. Trump’s conversation with Mr. Morgan, in which the pair appear to exchange pleasantries before the former President requests that they “turn off the camera.”
Mr. Farage said: “Here’s the point about that Sun front page ‘Ex-Prez storms out on Morgan’.
“The impression was given in this newspaper and elsewhere that Trump had lost his rag and stormed out because he simply could not take it.
“Well, I tell you what, there is only one way to describe that news headline. It’s very simple: it is fake news.”
Mr. Farage then played an audio clip of Piers Morgan conversing with Mr. Trump. He says: “That was a great interview. Thank you very much. I really appreciate it.”
Mr. Trump then requests that Mr. Morgan turn off the camera.
Mr. Farage continued, “So the interview has concluded. Morgan expresses gratitude for the excellent interview. Trump responds affirmatively. It is concluded. It has been completed.
“There is no way, absolutely no way, no way at all, that Trump stormed out of that meeting. It’s a completely inaccurate, dishonest representation of what happened.”
Mr. Farage then discussed the ramifications of The Sun’s false claim that Mr. Trump exited the interview abruptly and on bad terms.
He cited the BBC’s false claim that the Queen stormed out of a photoshoot in Crowngate. The BBC’s chief executive was then forced to resign as a result of the scandal.
