US President Joe Biden said on Thursday that he will ask Congress to approve a second supplementary financial package for Ukraine next week.

Biden predicted that Congress will “move and act rapidly” on the bill.
“In order to sustain Ukraine for the duration of this fight, I’ll have to send a supplemental budget request to Congress next week to keep weapons and ammunition flowing without interruption to the brave Ukrainian fighters and continue to deliver economic assistance to the Ukrainian people,” Biden said from the White House.
Biden also thanked American taxpayers and military personnel for their contributions to Ukraine.
“Sometimes we will talk quietly and carry a giant javelin, because we’re sending a lot of those in as well,” Biden said of the significance of bringing help to Ukraine, riffing on a famous statement by former US President Teddy Roosevelt.
