Orange Line, Metro Bus services in Lahore to remain suspended

LAHORE: Ahead of the PTI rally in the provincial capital tonight, the Punjab Mass Transit Authority has decided to suspend the services of the Orange Line Metro Train and Metro bus in Lahore citing security reasons.

As reported by Bol News, the authority will temporarily halt both mass transit services at 4pm today.

A statement issued by the authority said the Orange Line Metro Train and Metro Bus services in Lahore will resume on Friday morning.

PTI is staging a power show in Lahore tonight after the ouster of Imran Khan as the prime minister.

The party has previously staged mammoth public rallies in Peshawar and Karachi, and it has claimed that the gathering in Lahore will be the biggest in the history of Pakistan.

Meanwhile, the incumbent government has decided to provide foolproof security to the ex-prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan amid security threats. Notably, the Lahore administration had advised Imran Khan to address the rally virtually, citing the same reasons.

However, PTI has ruled out this option and the former prime minister will physically address the participants of the rally.
