The United States Capitol Police ordered Wednesday’s evacuation of the facility, stating that they were “following an aircraft that poses a likely threat.”
The notification directed people at the facility at the heart of the US government in Washington to vacate, but provided no other information about the type of aircraft it was tracking.
The US House of Representatives and Senate, both of which are headquartered inside the complex, were not in session.
