Ukraine’s mayor claims ‘remains’ of sarin were discovered following Putin’s chemical-weapons retreat

Officials uncovered indications of the deadly toxin sarin as well as other chemical chemicals, according to Trostianets mayor Yuriy Bova. Sarin is a transparent, odourless chemical that is classified as a nerve agent with the potential to kill. It is regarded one of the most dangerous and fast acting chemical warfare weapons, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

In statements reported by Ukraine’s National News Agency, Mr. Bova said: “In the hamlet of Bilka, we discovered the residues of chemical weapons, including sarin and other compounds.

“Ampoules were found. The Ukrainian Security Service is now working on this.

“It’s possible that the invaders meant to use this poison to target Kyiv, Poltava, or other cities,” the mayor warned in a grim threat.

The remarks came only days after Ukraine accused Russia of deploying chemical weapons against soldiers in Mariupol, which is under siege and under fire.

Three individuals were poisoned after a drone dropped an unknown chemical on panicked troops, according to the Azov Regiment, a far-right nationalist unit of Ukraine’s National Guard.

The scary explosion and “sweet-tasting” white smoke were recounted by one of the servicemen injured in the purported attack.

Another of the alleged poisoning victims stated he rapidly became short of breath and fainted with the sensation of having “cotton legs.”

Western forces have been feverishly attempting to verify the poisoning accusations over the past three days.

The US has been tight-lipped about the strikes, although the Pentagon has stated that the situation is “very troubling.”

It was “representative of our worries about Russia’s ability to employ a range of riot control measures, including tear gas laced with chemical agents,” according to Washington.

If Moscow is proved to be employing chemical weapons, US President Joe Biden and NATO have already warned that the West may become actively engaged in Russia’s confrontation with Ukraine.

If Russia is proved to be deploying lethal chemical weapons, a number of US legislators, like Florida Republican Representative Michael Waltz, have asked for NATO to become more involved in the battle.

“President [Joe] Biden should have been drawing red lines regarding the use of weapons of mass devastation from the outset,” he said Fox News.

“I believe that red line…that would be the point at which NATO would be forced to intervene actively.”

“We cannot allow chemical weapons, or, God forbid, tactical nuclear weapons, to be the next step on Putin’s escalation ladder.”
