On Thursday, authorities in Arizona apprehended a woman who was in possession of thousands of synthetic opioid tablets during a traffic check.
According to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, a traffic check along Interstate 10 was performed by detectives from the Border Interdiction Unit. Additionally, authorities stated that they discovered around 371,000 fentanyl tablets during the stop.
Imelda Carter, 47, was identified as the vehicle’s driver. Carter was turned over to federal authorities for additional investigation, according to the sheriff’s department, and was subsequently arrested on several offences.
Deputies estimate that the pills collected had a street worth of $1.4 million.
