Easter weekend violence leaves six people, including a 15-year-old, hurt in London

SIX PEOPLE have been hurt in a series of incidents throughout London over the Easter weekend.

Six persons were treated in hospital in the capital for stab wounds throughout a variety of events ahead of the final day of the long Easter weekend. Three teens were stabbed in broad daylight in south London on Friday following an altercation in Croydon.

On Friday, just after 4.35pm, police were dispatched to the scene in New Addington.

Emergency responders sent three people, ages 15, 16, and 18, to the hospital.

One person first believed to have suffered life-threatening injuries was later revealed to have sustained “non-life-threatening” wounds.

Police issued a temporary Section 60 order authorizing the force to conduct stop-and-search operations inside the defined area.

“A Section 60 has been authorized for New Addington and the wards north of Croydon, including Waddon, Fairfield, Parkhill, Whitgift, and Shirley South,” a Metropolitan Police spokesperson said.

“This will remain operational until 0700hrs on 16 April. Please support police officers as they work through the night to keep people in Croydon safe.”

The Metropolitan Police later announced that two suspects had been arrested in connection with the Goldcrest Way stabbings.

Police were notified the following day after a 27-year-old male was stabbed and sent to a major trauma centre in the same location of New Addington.
