Ukraine’s President, Volodymyr Zelensky, has stated that the country is fighting in the Donbas area and has “no intention of surrendering.”
In an interview with CNN on Sunday, Zelensky dismissed the concept of allowing Moscow to assume control of the Donbas and a portion of eastern Ukraine to end the conflict.

He said, ” “Ukraine and its people have made their feelings known. We have no claim to anybody else’s land, but we will not relinquish ours “..
When Russian President Vladimir Putin speaks of reclaiming the Donbas, he is alluding to Ukraine’s former coal and steel-producing region. He truly means the whole eastern regions of Luhansk and Donetsk, which stretch from outside Mariupol in the south all the way to the Russian border in the north.
