Ukraine PM to visit Washington next week

Several parts of Ukraine are still being bombed on day 52. While many have died in the war, others have been forced to flee.

The bodies of more than 900 civilians have been found in the area around the Ukrainian capital since Russia left. Most of them were killed, police said Friday, which means that many people were “simply executed.”

Moscow rehearsed for a new offensive in eastern Ukraine. Locals in the battered southern port city of Mariupol reported seeing Russian troops dig up bodies.

In the northeastern city of Kharkiv, shelling of a residential area killed seven people, including a 7-month-old child, and wounded 34, according to regional Gov. Oleh Sinehubov.

Russian President Vladimir Putin sent his troops into Ukraine on what he calls a “special military operation” to demilitarise” Ukraine.
