The release of the tax returns on Friday comes three days before Monday’s official US tax filing deadline.

They paid $523,371 in federal income taxes at a 31.6 percent effective federal income tax rate. In 2021, they combined to donate $22,100 to charity, or around 1.3 percent of their salary.

Trump has frequently refused to reveal his tax returns, claiming he is under audit. Since the Watergate era, the IRS has guaranteed every president and the vice president an annual audit.
“The President has shared a total of 24 years of tax returns with the American public, once again demonstrating his commitment to being transparent with the American people about the finances of the commander in chief,” the White House said in a statement alongside the release of the latest tax returns, adding that Harris has now published 18 years of her tax returns.
