In Ukraine, almost 6,000 ‘crimes against humanity will be examined.
Volodymyr Zelensky, President of Ukraine, pledged to hold Russians ‘accountable’ for atrocities such as rape and torture.
War crimes investigations have thus far concentrated on the Kyiv suburbs of Bucha, Makarov, and Borodyanka.
However, Ukraine’s General Prosecutor’s Office stated that it will now investigate incidents in the Brovary district.
According to investigators, 1,200 bodies have been uncovered in the greater Kyiv region.
Since the invasion began, around ‘500 suspects’ have been identified, including Vladimir Putin and his top officials.
It comes on the heels of the horrifying news that a Russian soldier was arrested in Bucha for reportedly video himself raping a one-year-old kid.
Similar horrifying accusations have emerged from Ukraine’s Kherson area, where officials claim that a 16-year-old girl and her grandmother were both raped.
So far, prosecutors have been notified of 6,036 possible war crimes.
‘Almost every day, new mass graves are discovered,’ President Zelensky told Lithuania’s Parliament yesterday. Evidence is accumulating.
‘Thousands of casualties. Hundreds of instances of heinous torture. Human remains continue to be discovered in manholes and basements. Bodies bound and mutilated.
‘There are hundreds of orphaned youngsters. That is, at least hundreds of children, as the precise number of victims is unknown at the moment.
‘Hundreds of rape instances have been documented, including those involving underage girls and extremely young toddlers… And even a newborn! It’s simply frightening to discuss it now.’
