As Russia continues to wreak havoc across Ukraine, one of President Putin’s detractors has disclosed that his defence minister is in critical health.
The exiled former co-owner of oil giant Yukos ascribed the unusual accusations to unnamed Moscow sources. It has not been confirmed independently.
According to The Mirror, one assumption is that prospective coup plotters are being imprisoned or otherwise crippled.
Mr Nevzlin claimed on Facebook, “Shoigu is out of the game, and if he lives, he may become crippled.”
Russia’s missing defence minister is apparently struggling for his life after suffering a “massive” heart attack.
According to one of Vladimir Putin’s detractors, Sergei Shoigu, 66, is in intensive care and his severe condition is not due to natural reasons.
According to 62-year-old Russian industrialist Leonid Nevzlin, the defence minister is “out of the game” and might be “crippled if he lives.”
He went on to claim that he is relying on technology to help him get through as he spread the rumours on Facebook.
Nevzlin also claimed that 20 defence ministry generals had been imprisoned as part of a £7.6 billion “corruption” investigation that has resulted in the arrest of 150 Federal Security Service (FSB) personnel.

Mr Nevzlin claimed on Facebook, “Shoigu is out of the game, and if he lives, he may become crippled.”
“He suffered a huge heart attack all of a sudden.” He is in critical care and is hooked up to machines.
“According to rumour, the heart attack could not have occurred due to natural causes.”
Shoigu’s heart issues have already been rumoured, as have accusations that he was out of sight because Putin ordered him to work from a distant nuclear bunker in the Urals.
According to rumours, Putin has withdrawn from the assault after Kremlin soldiers sustained serious losses.
On April 13, Shoigu was observed participating in a video call with Putin and other ministers regarding Arctic development.
He was dressed formally and scribbled down Putin’s directions. He didn’t say anything.
However, doubts have already been raised regarding whether staged film is occasionally utilised in these sessions when Putin is shown meeting remotely with ministers.
Nevzlin did not specify when he believes Shoigu suffered from a heart attack.
He stated that the arrested generals were all from “headquarters” rather than from the field in Ukraine, but provided no evidence of such widespread imprisonment during the Ukrainian war.
“Everything is apparent here – the whole misappropriation of cash for the preparation of [taking over the leadership of Ukraine,” Nevzlin stated.
“Since 2014, about $10 billion (USD) budgeted by Putin for blitzkrieg preparations has been stolen.”
According to Nevzlin, a criminal investigation is also ongoing against long-serving ex-deputy prime minister Arkady Dvorkovich, 50.
He continued, saying: “He will be called to testify against his coworkers and friends.
According to FSB sources, if he does not cooperate with the inquiry, he will be moved to either Matrosskaya Tishina or Lefortovo pre-trial detention facilities.”
He also stated that the guy who “created Putinism,” ideologist Vladislav Surkov, has been imprisoned and is being held under house arrest in Russia.
Reports of this surfaced yesterday, and were seen as Putin turning on his inner circle in the midst of a major crisis and serious divisions inside the Kremlin.
He stated: “Surkov is being held at home. This is the same instance when 20 generals were apprehended.”
It concerns the suspected loss of monies meant to prepare the way for war and quickly conquer Ukraine with the help of obedient locals.
Nevzlin is a Russian-born Israeli businessman, philanthropist, and investor.
He was a senior executive of Group Menatep and its subsidiary, Yukos Oil Company.
