Putin declares war on the United States and NATO, declaring that weapons-carrying trucks are now ‘targets.’

According to TASS, Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov issued the warning, stating, “We warn that US-NATO weaponry transferred through Ukrainian territory would be considered lawful military targets by us.” It comes after Sweden declared its intention to seek for NATO membership, with Finland’s Prime Minister Sanna Marin stating that a decision will be made “in weeks.” Russia previously stated that if the two Nordic countries joined NATO, it would have to “rebalance the situation.”

‘More funds to Russia than Ukraine’ EU fury as bloc told to slash Putin’s £82bn lifeline

According to a UK researcher, Brussels is subsidising Vladimir Putin’s “ignoble” conflict, with the EU paying Russia with more cash than Ukraine.

Professor of Enterprise and Economic Geography at Birmingham Business School, hn Bryson, was writing at a time when Russia is generally anticipated to begin a huge attack in Ukraine’s east, amid claims that it has already occupied the strategic port city of Mariupol in the country’s south-east.

He explained: “The US, UK, the European Commission, and other countries, have applied sanctions and continue to identify new sanctions that could be imposed on Russia. Nonetheless, punishments have been administered in a tepid or lacklustre manner thus far. Now is the time for all countries to apply sanctions.

It was “increasingly untenable” for any one country to claim neutrality, since doing so implied tacit support for what Prof Bryson termed “Putin’s ongoing assault against the Ukrainian people,” including “war crimes.”

“We should recognise all athletic and cultural groups that have put meaningful sanctions on Russia,” he continued. However, more is necessary.”
