Putin turns to ‘Plan D’ to ‘save face’

Putin turns to ‘Plan D’ to ‘save face’

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has failed on several fronts. Putin turns to Plan D.

Former deputy national security adviser, K.T. McFarland, told that Russia has failed on numerous leads, therefore it has turned to plan D.

It has failed to maintain prolonged blockade in the state.

Russia has now re-evaluated its strategy, and it is attempting to secure eastern Ukraine.

The intelligence and military experts claim that the move is a little bit more to ask for.

McFarland said, “Their Plan A was to mass along the border as if to invade, and assume Ukraine would capitulate on NATO membership and Donbas.” While, Plan B was to invade and take over in a few days.

When the previous plans did not work, Russia moved towards Plan C, to prolong the war and blockade.

She continued, “When that didn’t work, they’ve moved to Plan D – consolidate in east and a frozen conflict along the border: spin it as a success back home, come back for rest of Ukraine in a few years.”

She further added that Russia thought Ukraine’s leaders would flee, and then they will install a puppet government.

Kagan said that the effort of invading Ukraine and replacing Zelensky with a government that Moscow could control, has been failed.

He argued, “The more Ukrainian territory Russia has the harder it is to keep an independent Ukraine alive over time, and the more opportunities Putin will have to invade again after he’s built up his military or to do other things to achieve his aim to bring down an independent Ukrainian government.”

Kagan also believes that as long as ‘Putinism’ remains alive in Russia, it will continue to destroy and independent Ukraine.

Putin does not accept Ukraine’s right to live freely, and he will not accept its acceptance as an independent state.
