After making himself seem “like something out of a horror film,” the American Idol judge proclaimed that he’s done with injectables.
Simon Cowell went through a phase where he used so much Botox and filler that he was terrified of the effects.
After making himself seem “like something out of a horror flick,” the American Idol judge said at the Nickelodeon 2022 Kid’s Choice Awards that he’s done with injectables. “There was a stage where I could have gone a little too far,” he said to The Sun at the award event. The other day, I saw a photo of myself from ‘before,’ and for the first time, I didn’t recognise it as myself.” Eric, Cowell’s 8-year-old son, was “hysterical” when he saw the unidentified face, but it was a turning moment for him. He declared, “Enough was enough.” “I don’t have any filler in my face anymore.” Zero. There was a time when everyone’s faces were being pumped full of this and that.”
“For me now, a lot of it comes down to healthy diet and drinking loads of water,” Cowell explains, rather than opting for plastic surgery. And the TV personality’s commitment to his health is certainly paying off, as he just lost 42 pounds. He’s also planning to marry Lauren Silverman, his ten-year girlfriend, later this year. This new outlook on his appearance comes after the X Factor judge suffered his second near-death experience in February 2022. After being catapulted over the handlebars of his e-bike while going 20 mph and not wearing a helmet for the second time, he was transported to a London hospital. That collision occurred 18 months after his previous e-bike accident in Los Angeles.
Cowell said in a recent interview with the Radio Times that in a strange way, he’s grateful both of those horrific things happened. “That bike accident was extremely bad, and I had a trainer to help me get through it since I wouldn’t have been able to recuperate properly otherwise,” he explained. “I’m in better shape now than I was before.” So, strangely, I’m glad it happened. It’s as though it was always meant to be.” After going through all of that, he decided to seek talk therapy for the first time in his life after noticing he was feeling “very, extremely, extremely down.” I was depressed since I didn’t know how to tell Eric about it. With him, I couldn’t accomplish all I wanted. I didn’t know if I’d ever be able to walk again, let alone play football with him.”
