Fawad says PTI doesn’t want confrontation, elections only solution

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Fawad Chaudhry on Wednesday emphasized on organization of general elections in the country to prevent crisis from deepening.

Addressing the media along with ex-energy minister Hammad Azhar, he said WikiLeaks exposed Nawaz Sharif, Asif Zardari, and Fazlur Rehman who offered themselves to become the prime minister.

Regarding the ‘threat letter’, he called for constitution of a powerful commission for probing the alleged conspiracy to topple Imran Khan’s government. Fawad said every institution now has the document, and it is up to the chief justice of Pakistan (CJP) to proceed with the case either day or night.

“The Supreme Court should probe into events – who held meetings in London… with whom – a leader who stayed at a farmhouse in the United States – held meetings with.”

The ex-federal minister said the incumbent government wants to probe into the letter itself where it is going to be the plaintiff as well as the judge.

Fawad called the joint opposition’s government a dummy one and expressed that it was everyone’s obligation to take the country towards elections.

He asserted that the whole country can be blocked on the call of Imran Khan. However, Fawad added that PTI does not want to steer towards confrontation.

He asserted that there are sane elements in Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) who want to have elections soon.

“Maryam Nawaz said Imran Khan was unpopular among the masses and people are happy with his ouster. If people are happy, go in the elections immediately,” the former minister said.

He also demanded immediate approval of PTI lawmakers’ resignations from the national assembly (NA).
