Kremlin-base children live their lives in luxury in America, and other European countries, while their parents reject the societies they grew in.
The life in luxury
These children live in a bubble where the luxury is granted at its best. They have private jets, gigantic apartments, vacations in Australia, and education at posh universities and schools in London and New York.
They have literally everything one could wish for.
These rich kids have invitations at red carpets, and their social media accounts are flooded with designer dresses and elite events.
While, their parents continue to protest for the societies they grew in, these kids enjoy parties and luxury there.
Such a hypocrisy
A professor from the University of California, Daniel Triesman says that this is extreme hypocrisy. Adding, “They may not even see a contradiction.”
According to him, they act as if they are oblivious of the situation between US and Russia. They want to provide their children with the best education from the West, yet they ignore the contradictions.
Putin’s view
Putin let out the outrage amongst such people who suppose they are working for a higher race, and the motive is, “the destruction of Russia.”
He said, “The Russian people will always be able to distinguish true patriots from scum and traitors and simply spit them out like a gnat that accidentally flew into their mouths.”
Threatening Russian values
US recently sanctioned spokesman Dmitry Peskov, saying, he lives, “luxurious lifestyles that are incogruous with Peskov’s civil service salary.”
His wife and children were also involved with the sanction.
Two of his children were raised in Western Europe, before returning to Moscow.
According to the Anti-Corruption Foundation, Peskov made $173,000 in 2020. He has been seen wearing a $600,000 watch, and spends hundreds of thousands of dollars a week.
Kleptocracy
Putin says that the wealth of such families can be put into a concept, termed, kleptocracy.
Georgetown University said, “A kleptocracy is merely a government that is ruled by thieves.” Thieves form policies and decisions there.
Russian kleptocrats spend their money in Western world. Trieman says, “They want to live in the West because the richest countries in the world are in the West. The amazing centers of culture are in the West. But in addition, Western countries have a much more secure rule of law than Russia. So, if they’re able to get a lot of their money into the West, they can feel more secure.”
“Their minds are with the West”
Peskov’s 24-year-old daughter, Elizaveta Peskova, feels better in the Western environment, and she calls Russian education system, “true hell.”
She also opposed her father’s values by posting “no to war,” on instagram. She counters the notion of war between Russia and Ukraine.
In March, Putin said that the problem with such people is that they are, “over there in their minds and not here with our people and with Russia.”
