Flooding has forced the closure of key roadways in the cities of Durban and Umlazi, according to eNCA, a South African media agency. It got worse because the country’s old infrastructure couldn’t handle all of the extra water, and that was made worse by blackouts.
Residents uploaded footage of water flooding into their homes and villages on social media. As the rain continues, a government official urged the people to stay indoors.
