California teacher accused sexual harassments

Seven students were allegedly molested by a California biology teacher who then posted graphic images of the abuse online, according to officials.

The Costa District Attorney’s Office has charged 35-year-old Anessa Paige Gower with 29 counts of child abuse while she worked at Richmond’s Making Waves Academy.

Sexting, unwanted touching, and sharing sexual images with youngsters were all part of the abuse that began last year, the victims and witnesses told investigators, authorities said.

The victims’ ages and genders have not been disclosed by the authorities, although the charter school serves kids in grades 5 through 12.

When Gower returned from a trip in Hawaii, she was detained at Sacramento International Airport on Wednesday.

Child molestation charges have been filed against her in Richmond, where she is presently being held.

Gower was fired as soon as the charges surfaced, according to Making Waves Academy CEO Alton B. Nelson Jr.

“During the course of an investigation into allegations that one of our teachers violated school policy, we learned of additional highly concerning allegations involving that teacher’s conduct,” Nelson said in a statement obtained by KRON4.

“We immediately shared that information with authorities who are reviewing the matter. That teacher is no longer employed by Making Waves Academy and we have reached out to parents, students and faculty to provide support where it might be needed.” harresment
