Drivers for a Ukrainian volunteer group that supplied food and medicine to the needy and also assisted in evacuations known as ” Help People”, were detained by the Russian military.
To aid residents stranded in Mariupol, more than a dozen minibus drivers had entered the Donbas region in private vehicles and transported them to safety. Russian military stopped them and tried to persuade them to take the buses into Russia, which they refused to do. According to Alex Voronin, the head of the non-governmental group, the drivers were taken into custody after they refused to leave.
