Wakefield MP convicted of molesting a teenage boy

Imran Ahmad Khan, a Conservative MP from Wakefield, has been ejected from the party after being found guilty of molesting a 15-year-old boy.

Khan first denied molesting the youngster at a Staffordshire party in January 2008, but was found guilty following a trial.

He forced the boy to drink gin, carried him upstairs, and urged him to view pornography before attacking him, according to Southwark Crown Court.

Khan, who is 48 years old, has stated that he plans to fight his sentence.

Khan, who was elected as a Conservative MP for Wakefield in 2019, was “expelled with immediate effect” following the decision, according to the Conservative Party.

Khan’s resignation has been demanded by the Labour Party and Robbie Moore, the Conservative MP for Keighley.

The complainant, now 29, described himself as “scared and appalled” after the incident.

He said that Khan began “slowly stroking” him and persisted despite being told to stop.

Police were contacted at the time, according to the court, but the teen did not wish to continue the matter.

After discovering that Mr Khan was running in the general election, the unnamed guy contacted the Conservative Party in 2019. He phoned the cops, after Mr Khan was elected to Parliament.

After nearly five hours of discussion, the MP was found guilty.

Mr Justice Baker, the judge, said he will sentence Khan on a later date, but cautioned him that “all punishment alternatives, including immediate incarceration, are being examined by the court.”

Khan said nothing as he walked out of court, but his lawyers subsequently released a statement stating he “maintains his innocence and will be appealing as quickly as possible.”

After the victim came forward in December 2019, Staffordshire Police launched an investigation against Khan.
