Russia says it would speak with Ukraine, but military actions will not be halted during the talks

Sergey Lavrov, Russia’s foreign minister, stated on Monday that Moscow is still interested in negotiations with Ukraine, but country’s military actions will not be paused if the two sides are together.

According to source, Russian officials have stated that negotiations with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s government are moving at a slower pace than they had hoped.

According to the news agency, President Vladimir Putin instructed the military to suspend activities during the first round of talks in late February, citing comments made by Lavrov to Russian state television on Monday.

Lavrov reportedly said. “After we became convinced that the Ukrainians were not planning to reciprocate, a decision was made that during the next rounds of talks, there would be no pause [in military action] so long as a final agreement is not reached,”
