ACER debars business with Russia amid Ukrainian crisis

Acer, a Taiwanese tech company, suspend its business with Russia on Friday. Soon after Taipei expanded its sanctions over Ukraine.

The world becomes divided during the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, while Acer joins the international sanctions against Russia.

The organization contributes to supporting the purpose by saying, “The company is focusing on the safety of all its employees, which includes ongoing efforts to help every individual and their families impacted by the current situation.”

They have made a move due to recent developments. Recently, Acer has listed 57 items that subject to tighter export controls. These include, telecoms, computers and avionic devices. The exports from other countries have also been monitored to avoid the consequences. They must seek approval from the Bureau of Foreign Trade.

Taiwan is the home for manufacturing microchips. Another tech company, ASUS suspended its shipments to Russia, after receiving a letter from Ukrainian digital minister Mykhailo Fedorov, asking to end any relationship with the country.

He has also urged other multi-national companies to halt their operations in Russia.

Companies like, Adidas and Samsung have terminated their businesses with Russia for the time being.
