ICC Men’s player of the month nominees are:
- Babar Azam, Pakistan
The Pakistani skipper managed to vow ICC with his brilliant performance during Australia’s tour of Pakistan.
Babar got the title of the third-highest run-scorer after Usman Khawaja and Abdullah Shafique In the recently concluded Bernaud-Qadir Trophy. The star moment in the second innings of the second Test in Karachi was his match-saving 196.
Babar continued his outstanding form in the ODI series as well. In the first ODI, he scored 57 in Pakistan’s 88-run loss before scoring a 118 to lead Pakistan to a six-wicket win in the second contest.
- Kraigg Brathwaite, West Indies
Skipper Kraigg Brathwaite was topping in recent West Indies’ Test series win against England at home ground.
Scoring 341 runs in six innings at an average of 85.25, Kraigg was the leading run-scorer of the series’. He managed two half-centuries in his six innings and a brilliant160-run knock in the Barbados second Test.
Braithwaite also got the title of Player of the Series.
- Pat Cummins, Australia
Cummins played as a leader of his team and gave a splendid performance. Cummins was named Player of the Match in the final Test for his bowling figures of 5/56 and 3/23.
ICC women’s player of the month nominees are:
- Sophie Ecclestone, England
England’s left-arm spinner, Sophie Ecclestone, gave some brilliant bowling performances in the recent ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup and became the tournament’s leading wicket-taker. Her smashing bowling throughout the tournament helped England to enter another World Cup final, where Australia defeated them.
- Rachael Haynes, Australia
Australia was lucky for having many star performers on their side who helped them win their seventh World Cup title. Rachael Haynes’ was one of those stars with her brilliant performance who proved to be one of the biggest helping hand for Australia throughout the tournament.
A brilliant century and her three half-centuries in their opening match of the tournament against England, gave Australia solid opening starts throughout, eventually resulting in Australia lifting the trophy for the seventh time.
- Laura Wolvaardt, South Africa
Opener Laura Wolvaardt batted with excellence in the recent ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup. She was leading South Africa’s batting order and made some excellent decisions for the team.
Scoring five half-centuries in 8 matches, Wolvaardt got 433 runs at an average of 54.12, becoming the fourth-highest run-getter of the tournament.
