Lieutenant General (Retd) Tariq Khan, who was appointed as a head of a commission by the federal government to investigate alleged lettergate, on Friday excused himself from supervising the commission to probe the matter.

It is relevant to mention here that a letter was written by Pakistan Ambassador Asad Majeed Khan, reportedly points towards regime change in Pakistan through a ‘no-confidence vote.
Family sources said that Lt Gen (Retd) Tariq Khan would not be able to head the commission due to his personal engagements.
They further said that Lt Gen (Retd) Tariq Khan has excused himself from heading the commission.
Earlier in the day, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry had announced the federal cabinet has formed a commission to investigate the alleged foreign conspiracy behind the no-confidence motion against PM Imran Khan.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader told the media that Lieutenant General (retd) Tariq Khan would lead the commission which will probe the alleged “threatening memo.”

Fawad Chaudhry said the commission would look into the lettergate and who the conspiracy hatched within the country.
