Security on high alert on Supreme Court premises

ISLAMABAD: Amid the ongoing hearing in the Supreme Court of Pakistan against the NA deputy speaker’s ruling about the dismissal of the no-confidence motion, a sudden high-security alert has been issued.

As reported by Bol News, a security alert has been issued in the Supreme Court premises and additional security personnel have been called as the hearing continued for a fifth consecutive day today.

The police have taken up positions in the Supreme Court premises while federal police officers have also reached the the court premises.

Besides, SSP security Dr Khurram has also reached the apex court along with the security personnel.

In this regard, police officials said that security has been beefed up in view of the increasing number of political stalwarts affiliated with the parties.

Notably, SC had taken notice of the political turmoil after Prime Minister Imran Khan dissolved the NA on Sunday after a controversial ruling by NA deputy speaker.

A five member larger bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Umar Ata Bandial was hearing the case.
