Rihanna makes history by becoming first woman to be listed among Forbes’ billionaires

Rihanna has joined the ranks of other Hollywood moguls such as Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, and Jay-Z on Forbes’ annual list of billionaires.

On Tuesday, April 5, the business journal revealed its annual list, which includes a host of new entries such as Rihanna, who made her money from a successful beauty and lingerie business.

On the list, the Work singer was ranked #1,729th.

According to Forbes, Rihanna has become the first billionaire from Barbados, where she was born. In December, the country recognised her efforts by presenting a special medal on her.

Rihanna is currently the richest female musician in the world, having leveraged her pop celebrity fame to turn her Fenty Beauty cosmetics line and Savage x Fenty lingerie line into a $1.7 billion corporation.

Along with Rihanna, Kim Kardashian, who came in at #1,645 on the list, is another huge personality in the entertainment industry to make the list.

Kanye West, Kim’s ex-husband, was also on the list, although he has disputed his #1,513 rating, claiming that Forbes has ‘underestimated’ his wealth.
