Putin’s ex-strange wife’s divorce declaration is being scrutinized following her flight attendant profession

The Russian President’s daughters are apparently on the verge of being sanctioned by the EU and the US for alleged crimes committed by Russian military soldiers in Bucha. Maria Vorontsova, 36, and Katerina Tikhonova, 35, had previously avoided any limitations. Politicians, oligarchs, and others in Putin’s inner circle will be targeted as well, with the proposals set to be approved on Wednesday.

Ms Vorontsova, a doctor, and Ms Tikhonova, a businesswoman, are both expected to face travel restrictions and asset freezes from the EU, but it is unclear if either of them has any assets outside of Russia.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the United States will take similar steps in response to worldwide indignation over the horrible death of innocent Ukrainian citizens.

Putin’s daughters are little known since he keeps them both out of the public, although they are both the offspring of his ex-wife, Lyudmila Aleksandrovna Ocheretnaya.

While the couple separated in 2013, their divorce is shrouded in mystery.

The plans, which are due to be approved up on Wednesday, would also target oligarchs and others in Putin’s inner circle.

They announced their divorce after 29 years of marriage on official television, with Lyudmila declaring, “It was truly a joint choice.”

“The marriage ended because we barely saw one other.

“I don’t enjoy exposure and find travelling tough — and we don’t see each other very often.”

Lyudmila, who was noticeably uncomfortable throughout the interview, tried to act positive, but her background raises concerns about her difficulty flying.

According to a passage from the Putin family’s official autobiography, ‘First Person: An Astonishingly Frank Self-Portrait by Russia’s President,’ Lyudmila began her career as an Aeroflot flight attendant.

She flew domestically out of Kaliningrad, a Russian territory wedged between Poland and Lithuania, where she met Putin.

“I’m from Kaliningrad,” she wrote. On domestic flights, I worked as a stewardess.

“No foreign flights were available to Kaliningrad.” It was, after all, a foreclosed city.”

Lyudmila remembers travelling to Leningrad — modern-day St Petersburg — with a friend who was going on a date but didn’t want to go alone.

“She had been invited by a male, but she was terrified to go alone, so she invited me along,” she wrote.

“When the boy found out she had invited me, he brought Volodya [a nickname for Vladimir Putin].”

They met near the Duma building on Nevsky Prospect, where Putin was standing on the stairs of the theatrical ticket office.

Lyudmila described her future spouse as “poorly dressed,” and she stated that she “wouldn’t have paid any attention to him on the street.”

Despite the fact that she did not “fall” for then-KGB agent Putin, she would go to Leningrad for their subsequent dates despite her apparent phobia of flying.

Lyudmila, who was reportedly so bothered by flying that it contributed to her divorce from her husband, would travel 600 miles (960 kilometres) to meet him.

“I started flying to Leningrad for dates,” she explained.
