HEARTLESS Russian murder squads massacred residents and even prevented rescuers from rescuing crying victims while annihilating a village near Kyiv.
Borodyanka has been transformed to a wasteland, with worries that the death toll would be “worse than Bucha” after horrifying Russian airstrikes buried residents behind mounds of rubble.
The little village immediately north-west of the city was among the first to be ravaged after Vladimir Putin sent his soldiers into Ukraine on February 24.
Russian planes swooped down on the town, dropping bombs from the sky as many apartment buildings collapsed, burying the scores of civilians who had taken refuge in them.
According to interim mayor Gerogii Yerko, more than 200 people are presumed dead as a result of the merciless shelling strikes, and sad photos show heartbroken neighbours sobbing as they went through the devastation.
Haunting drone footage shows the extent of devastation in the one-street village, with mountains of rubble around the burnt-out ruins of apartment towers where people previously resided.
Svitlana Stashevskyi, a Borodyanka resident, watched in horror as buildings disintegrated under the ferocious bombings, burying many people alive.
She alleges Russian forces even blocked rescuers digging to help individuals buried by flaming rubble as their agonising screams rang out.
“Shortly after the attack, people nearby heard persons begging for rescue,” Svitlana told the BBC.
“The digging was halted by Russian forces.” If they tried, they were threatened with a gun.”
According to accounts, despite pledging not to target inhabitants, Putin’s butchers fired rockets straight into people’s houses in the town.
Fearful residents have even alleged that some individuals were abducted and brought to Belarus.
“They abducted individuals, tortured our buddy,” Nikita, 16, told The Telegraph. Some persons were kidnapped, questioned, and deported to Belarus.
“They occupied our whole town, destroyed our homes and stole food from the citizens. It was a living horror.”
Another lady informed the outlet that a local priest advised mourning families to bury loved ones slain in the ruthless attacks in their gardens because it was not safe to get them to the church.
